Maristone Senior Living Receives National Marketing Award
Honored as one of "The Best of the Best"
May 11, 2009
For Immediate Release--Nashville TN
Maristone Senior Living was honored with the prestigious "Best Of The Best Award" from the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA). Maristone Senior Living is being recognized for outstanding marketing and community outreach through their On Modern Age media platforms. The Nashville-based company was presented with the award during a special ceremony at the 2009 annual ALFA convention in Philadelphia, as well as being profiled in the industry publication, Assisted Living Executive Magazine.
ALFA is the largest national association exclusively dedicated to professionally operated assisted living communities. Considered to be the "watchdog" of the industry, ALFA's member-driven programs promote business and operational excellence through national conferences, research, publications and executive networks as well as working to influence public policy.
The annual "Best of the Best Awards" are the assisted living industry's "Oscars". Chosen by committee, it's ALFA's way of recognizing senior living companies for the most innovative and operational excellence strategies of the past year.
The weekly television feature (airing Thursdays on Nashville's WSMV Channel 4 NBC) and a companion monthly column (in Mature Lifestyles), provides valuable information and tips on senior living, important medical and financial news, along with other relevant, topical and useful information. The segments are also placed on the company's website where specially created materials and tip-sheets can be downloaded. "On Modern Age" not only helps brand Maristone Senior Living as a leader and innovator in senior living, but also fulfills the company's mission of helping ALL seniors in Middle Tennessee by becoming a go-to resource for the elderly population at-large.
"I have always believed that our communities are more than bricks and mortar," says Maristone Senior Living CEO Karen Shayne. "We know it's not enough to just build communities -- you have to be a part of the community you build in." That's why we began On Modern Age," says Shayne (who also hosts the segments). "I'd specifically like to thank our media partners WSMV Channel 4, as well as our print partner Mature Lifestyles. Through these partners, we come into the living rooms of all seniors, giving them some of the same support systems and resources that residents of assisted living communities have access to."
"The fact that we are a young company that has only been in business for two years and are receiving this award from our peers lets me know we are already making an impact on the lives of our much appreciated and treasured seniors. I'd like to thank them, our viewers for continuing to watch On Modern Age. They are the people that Maristone Senior Living are committed to serving."
"The need for outreach will only increase," says Shayne. "Economists project that 2-4 million baby boomers will resettle in Middle and Eastern Tennessee within the next ten years, attracted by its low cost of living, absence of state income tax and scenic beauty. Last November of 2008, US News and World Report named Nashville one of the best places to retire. Maristone Senior Living is continuing to look for opportunities to partner with other companies that share the same vision of service to the general senior population."
Maristone Senior Living will open the first of its properties, The Maristone of Franklin (Tennessee), this fall and will break-ground this spring on a second community, The Maristone at Providence, in Mt Juliet. Plans are in the works for a third community in the Middle Tennessee area as well. The properties will offer luxury living in 54 to 64 suites, a secure Alzheimer's/Memory Care Community and adult day services for up to nine people per day. Each property will also offer exclusive programs such as Maristone Transitions and Maristone Miles.
